Yang Hong-won Marries, Then Faces Infidelity Rumors and Teased Drug Allegations; Wife Makes Social Media Private

Yang Hong-won has been embroiled in controversy over a series of allegations following his wedding.

Rapper Yang Hong-won drew attention on Oct. 18 when he married model Won Hyun-joo. The couple registered their marriage in 2023 and welcomed a daughter in November 2024. Yang has also shared glimpses of raising their daughter, Rua, on his YouTube channel, “Yang Hong-won's Parenting Diary.”

But just five days after the wedding, on Oct. 23, a social media account accused Yang of going to a motel with another woman. The accuser posted details of a phone call with Yang and direct messages sent to Won Hyun-joo. However, the person who was said to have entered the motel with Yang said the accuser had deliberately arranged for them to go there and had also demanded money from them. Yang, too, said through his agency that no romantic contact had taken place and that he would not meet the accuser's demand for money. The infidelity allegations appeared to be winding down, with suspicions that the accuser had orchestrated the incident.

Then, on Oct. 25, another social media account posted allegations. The account, whose operator claimed to have been a longtime fan of Yang, said, “It made me think about whether staying silent is really a choice made for anyone's benefit,” and promised to reveal information about Yang's private life. The post included the hashtag “drugs,” further fueling speculation.

On Oct. 24, Yang released the collaborative single “Plan B,” made with Dakshood, Lil Gnar, Shyboytoby, BIG 9ULPO and Costa Cashman, and continued his activities despite the allegations. His wife, Won Hyun-joo, has meanwhile taken all of her social media posts down, signaling a change in her state of mind.
