〈Street Fighter〉 has generated excitement by releasing character posters.
The movie 〈Street Fighter〉, set to be released in 2026, adapts the namesake fighting game series into live-action. Based on the original setting where fighters from around the world compete in a tournament to determine the strongest, the film features the characters from the existing game.
The character posters for 〈Street Fighter〉 released on December 11 (local time) caught the attention of fans along with the teaser video that followed. Not only do many characters symbolizing the original appear, but the cast also reflects the original as much as possible. Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo, David Dastmalchian, and other actors familiar to Korean audiences perfectly embodied their characters. Additionally, professional wrestlers like Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes, who appeared in the film, left a strong presence similar to the characters in the game.
'Street Fighter' was previously adapted into a film in 1994 starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, which received poor audience reactions but was a box office success. Later, in 2009, 〈Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li〉 starring Kristin Kreuk was released, but this film failed both in recreating the original and in cinematic quality, resulting in box office failure.
