JTBC 'History Tellers' Premieres on January 8... Kim Jong-min and Kang Ji-young Confirmed as Hosts

JTBC announced on the 29th that it will officially air the historical lecture battle program 〈History Tellers〉 starting January 8 of next year.

〈History Tellers〉 is the first historical lecture battle format current affairs program in South Korea. It features legendary figures in the history lecture scene telling different stories on a single topic, with only one top storyteller being selected.

The program conducted a pilot broadcast for about two months from September to November to test viewer reactions. During the pilot period, former basketball national team member and broadcaster Seo Jang-hoon hosted the show, but ahead of the regular airing, a complete overhaul was carried out with a new MC lineup and an expanded worldview.

After the regular airing, new hosts Kim Jong-min, a singer and broadcaster, and former announcer Kang Ji-young joined the show. The two hosts will lead the fierce knowledge competition among the lecturers, delivering both culture and entertainment to the viewers.

The lecture topics will also be significantly expanded. Moving away from the focus on Korean and world history, the program will cover various fields such as art history, crime history, political history, economic history, literary history, and science history. It plans to evolve into a comprehensive cultural program that encompasses not only history but also the humanities as a whole.

〈History Tellers〉 will premiere on January 8 at 8:50 PM and will be regularly scheduled at the same time every Wednesday.
