Detective Ma Seok-do's fifth case is in the preparation stage.

According to reports from Korean media on January 12, the new installment of the 〈The Roundup〉 series has begun production with the goal of crank-in within 2026. 〈The Roundup〉 depicts the process of Detective Ma Seok-do subduing various criminals and can be considered a representative series of actor Don Lee. Don Lee is not only the lead in this work but also oversees the overall series concept and planning.

According to the report, Kim Jaeyoung will appear as the villain in this fifth installment. The 〈The Roundup〉 series has featured heinous criminals as antagonists, with previous villains including Yoon Kye-sang, Son Seok-koo, Lee Joon-hyuk, Kim Mu-yeol, and Lee Dong-hwi. However, the style of the villain that Kim Jaeyoung will portray, or the type of criminal he will be, has not been disclosed yet.

Don Lee previously stated that the 〈The Roundup〉 series is planned up to the eighth installment, with the first four being part one and the fifth to eighth being part two. He has hinted that in part two, Ma Seok-do will face greater dangers, resulting in an overall darker atmosphere that approaches an action thriller.
