'Avatar: Fire and Ash', 6 Million in Korea and Over 1.2 Billion Dollars Globally... The Box Office Heat Doesn't Cool Down

〈Avatar: Fire and Ash〉 is continuing its box office momentum both domestically and internationally.

The third installment of the 〈Avatar〉 series, 〈Avatar: Fire and Ash〉, returned to audiences worldwide on December 17 after three years. The story depicts the Sully family facing a crisis once again as they encounter the tribe of Ash led by Varang. Given that all previous installments surpassed 10 million viewers in Korea and exceeded 2 billion dollars in global box office, expectations are high for the third installment's box office performance.

As of January 11, 〈Avatar: Fire and Ash〉 has surpassed 6.07 million viewers in Korea. In just 26 days since its release, 〈Avatar: Fire and Ash〉 has also crossed 1.2 billion dollars in global box office according to Box Office Mojo, marking it as the third film to surpass 1 billion dollars in Hollywood for 2025 and ranking 3rd in box office for films released in 2025.

Director James Cameron has previously stated that he plans the 〈Avatar〉 series as a five-part project, so there is growing interest in whether a sequel will be produced due to the success of this third installment.
