Actor Lee Byung-hun was nominated for Best Actor at the Golden Globe Awards for the film 〈No Other Choice〉, but he did not win.

At the 83rd Golden Globe Awards held on the 11th (local time) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, the Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy went to Timothée Chalamet for 〈Matty Supreme〉.

In this category, top Hollywood actors including Lee Byung-hun, George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Ethan Hawke competed, but the youngest actor, Chalamet, was selected as the final winner.

At the moment the winner was announced, Lee Byung-hun smiled and showed sincere applause for Chalamet.

As for instances of Korean actors winning at the Golden Globe Awards, in 2022, Oh Young-soo won the Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series for 〈Squid Game〉 Season 1.

The Golden Globe Awards, which started in 1944, is a representative Hollywood awards ceremony that distinguishes between film and TV categories. The nominees and winners in all 28 categories are determined by a voting panel of over 300 entertainment journalists from around the world, including the United States.

Director Park Chan-wook's 〈No Other Choice〉 was nominated in 3 categories at this Golden Globe, including Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, Best Actor (Lee Byung-hun), and Best Foreign Language Film.
