According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on the 14th (Korean time), Sutherland was arrested on the 13th (local time) for felony threats and was released after posting bail.

The incident occurred around 12:15 AM on the 12th near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood. According to police investigations, Sutherland, who was using a rideshare service (Uber/Lyft, etc.), was found to have physically assaulted and threatened the driver during an argument. Fortunately, the victim driver did not sustain serious injuries requiring immediate medical treatment.

Sutherland, who was arrested by the police responding to the report, posted a bail of $50,000 (approximately 73 million won) and was released.

He served 48 days in jail in 2007 for DUI and probation violation, and in 2009, he was charged with assault for headbutting a fashion designer after the Met Gala event. Currently, Sutherland's representative is remaining silent, and he is scheduled to appear in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on February 2 to face trial.
