
The actor Kiefer Sutherland (59), who was loved worldwide as the hero 'Jack Bauer' preventing terrorism in the drama '24', has been arrested by the police as the perpetrator of an assault incident in real life.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on the 14th (Korean time), Sutherland was arrested on the 13th (local time) for felony threats and was released after posting bail.
◆ Midnight Rampage... Assaulting Rideshare Driver
The incident occurred around 12:15 AM on the 12th near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Hollywood. According to police investigations, Sutherland, who was using a rideshare service (Uber/Lyft, etc.), was found to have physically assaulted and threatened the driver during an argument. Fortunately, the victim driver did not sustain serious injuries requiring immediate medical treatment.
Sutherland, who was arrested by the police responding to the report, posted a bail of $50,000 (approximately 73 million won) and was released.
◆ Ongoing Legal Troubles
This is not the first time Sutherland has faced legal issues. He served 48 days in jail in 2007 for DUI and probation violation, and in 2009, he was charged with assault for headbutting a fashion designer after the Met Gala event. Recently, while actively participating in films like 'Stone Cold Fox' and 'Going to #2', he has once again become embroiled in an unfortunate incident.
Currently, Sutherland's representative is remaining silent, and he is scheduled to appear in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on February 2 to face trial.
