Colleen Hoover (46), who has risen to fame as a bestselling author leading the global TikTok 'BookTok' phenomenon, has revealed her battle with cancer. Fortunately, her treatment is going well, and fans are breathing a sigh of relief.
On the 13th, Hoover posted a photo in a hospital gown on her Instagram story, announcing, "Second to last day of radiation."
◆ "Detected abnormalities during film shooting... cancer removed through surgery"
Hoover first disclosed her diagnosis through a private fan page last December. While filming the movie 'Reminders of Him', based on her novel in Canada, she felt unwell but postponed testing until after filming was completed.
After returning home, she was diagnosed with cancer and underwent surgery to remove it. She is currently receiving radiation therapy. Hoover reassured her fans, stating, "Chemotherapy is not needed," and that test results showed it was not due to genetics, HPV, or hormonal issues.
◆ The 'CoHo' craze continues even during her battle
Although she missed the premiere of the movie 'Regretting You' last October due to health issues, her work has not stopped. Coincidentally, the 13th, when she shared her cancer battle update, is also the release date of her latest work 'Woman Down'.
2026 is expected to be truly 'Colleen Hoover's year.' On March 13, the film 'Reminders of Him' will be released, and in October, her representative thriller 'Verity' will hit theaters, meeting audiences. Following the success of 'It Ends With Us' starring Blake Lively in 2024, another screen phenomenon is anticipated.
Hoover expressed her determination in her battle, saying, "I want to blame my hair and expression on the hospital, but the medical staff was excellent," maintaining her unique sense of humor.
