The Netflix series 〈Can This Love Be Interpreted?〉 successfully held its production presentation on January 13 (Tuesday), as multilingual interpreter Joo Ho-jin takes on the interpretation for global top star Cha Mu-hee. On this day, director Yoo Young-eun, and actors Kim Sun-ho and Go Yoon-jung attended, sharing various stories and raising expectations for the project.

First, director Yoo Young-eun introduced the project as "a romantic comedy where the interpreter 'Joo Ho-jin' who connects different languages meets the beloved star 'Cha Mu-hee' and they come to understand each other's love languages in their own ways." She particularly highlighted, "The emotional dilemmas that arise during interpretation are intriguing. The chemistry between the two characters, ranging from romance to comedy and melodrama, is fully captured," drawing attention to the charm of the work.

There were also diverse stories about the characters that filled the work with excitement. First, Kim Sun-ho, who plays the multilingual interpreter 'Joo Ho-jin', introduced his character as "a multilingual interpreter fluent in six languages: English, Japanese, Italian, Chinese, French, and Korean. He conveys unfamiliar languages more comfortably than anyone else, but he struggles to express his own emotions." He further explained his preparation process, stating, "After familiarizing myself with the script, I practiced conveying emotions through repetition. Each language is different, but I diligently prepared for about four months before filming." Go Yoon-jung, who plays the global top star 'Cha Mu-hee', described her character as "a once-unknown actress who miraculously became a global star overnight. She meets the interpreter 'Ho-jin' who translates her language and navigates communication errors in love." She added, "While I am happy to have suddenly become a top star, I also wanted to express various emotions, including anxiety about not knowing when this festival will end and excitement and doubt about meeting new people in a new place." In particular, Kim Sun-ho mentioned, "'Ho-jin' and 'Mu-hee' fatefully meet again after their first encounter in Japan, leading to an unpredictable romantic comedy," while Go Yoon-jung explained, "I believe interpretation focuses on understanding and smooth communication. I wanted to depict the process of 'Ho-jin' and 'Mu-hee' empathizing and understanding each other rather than just understanding each other's words," heightening anticipation for their chemistry in the film.

Next, behind-the-scenes stories about the diverse visuals completed through overseas location shooting were revealed, further heightening interest. Filming took place in four countries, including Korea, Japan, Canada, and Italy. Director Yoo Young-eun shared, "Since Japan captures the first meeting of the two characters, you will feel fresh emotions," and added, "In Canada, the two characters grow emotionally closer, and there are many dramatic moments, so you will see dramatic scenery like sunsets or auroras." She also mentioned, "In Italy, as the story progresses to the latter half, you will feel more romantic moments," raising curiosity about the characters' narratives unfolding in beautiful landscapes. Additionally, Kim Sun-ho expressed, "While overseas, the staff gathered together, relying on each other, sharing meals, and talking every day, so I felt a lump in my throat and a surge of emotions every time a location shoot ended," while Go Yoon-jung added, "I feel like we got closer in Canada than in Japan, and even closer in Italy than in Canada. I remember seeing the actual aurora on the way back after filming the aurora scene in Canada," hinting at the warm atmosphere during the overseas location shoot.

Finally, director Yoo Young-eun stated, "We captured the universal emotion of love in the beautiful landscapes of various countries. I hope you can feel the energy of the aurora we saw on set while watching this work in the new year," while Kim Sun-ho remarked, "We filmed joyfully as if we received gifts while traveling to various countries. Now it feels like the day has come for us to give gifts to the viewers. Please watch happily and with love and interest." Go Yoon-jung added, "Our work is like a fairy tale, has fantastical elements, and is fun. I hope you spend this winter warmly watching our work at the beginning of the year," concluding the production presentation. Successfully wrapping up the production presentation, expectations for 〈Can This Love Be Interpreted?〉 are heightened as it is set to be released exclusively on Netflix on January 16.
