Actor Ahn Jae-hong's playful acting has once again shone brightly.
In the film 〈The Man Who Lives with the King〉, which was released on the 4th, Ahn Jae-hong captivates the audience with a short but intense special appearance, taking responsibility for the early vitality of the film.
〈The Man Who Lives with the King〉 is set in 1457 at Cheongnyeongpo, depicting the story of a village chief who voluntarily goes into exile for the revival of the village and a young former king who is exiled after being ousted from the throne. Directed by Jang Hang-jun, who also directed 〈Night of Memories〉 and 〈Rebound〉, the film features Yoo Hae-jin, Park Ji-hoon, and Yoo Ji-tae, completing a heavy narrative.
In his special appearance in the film, Ahn Jae-hong plays the village chief of Norugol, next to Gwangcheon-gol, showcasing the essence of a 'scene-stealer'. He is a character who reveals the secret that allows the entire village to enjoy a prosperous life overnight to Eom Heung-do (played by Yoo Hae-jin), who accidentally steps into Norugol, bringing his unique cheerful energy to open the film.
In this process, Ahn Jae-hong embodies the character with his distinctive playful acting, injecting vitality into the scenes. Not only does he elicit subtle laughter with his delightful performance, but in scenes where he engages in fierce debates with Yoo Hae-jin over the selection of the exile location, he creates a sharp tiki-taka, radiating a 'crazy' chemistry.
Ahn Jae-hong's special appearance in 〈The Man Who Lives with the King〉 was made possible through his connection with director Jang Hang-jun. The bond formed through the 2023 film 〈Rebound〉 has continued to this work, and he has effectively played the role of a comic relief character, capturing attention despite his brief appearance as the village chief of Norugol.
Meanwhile, 〈The Man Who Lives with the King〉 is currently showing in theaters nationwide.
