
Entertainment lifestyle platform company HYBE is taking significant steps to expand the global reach of K-pop content by partnering with Spotify, the world's largest audio and music streaming platform. On the 6th, HYBE announced that it has signed a global content partnership with Spotify and will launch an official video podcast channel on the Spotify platform. In this partnership, HYBE will directly plan and produce high-quality video content, while Spotify will exclusively distribute and support its viewing for music fans worldwide.
HYBE has noted the rapidly expanding influence of the video podcast format in the global music market. With over 751 million users worldwide, Spotify holds a leading position in the podcast service sector, and HYBE aims to fully leverage that platform's competitive edge. By allowing users to naturally encounter and experience K-pop culture and artists' stories while exploring various content on Spotify, they expect to create a synergistic effect that attracts a new global fan base.
HYBE's official video podcast channel will officially open on March 23, coinciding with the announcement of the channel name. The content will be operated in an omniverse format, featuring artists from HYBE's labels and various global creators sharing genuine stories about music and daily life. The first video content will be released sequentially starting in April. To enhance the quality of the content, the 'HYBE Media Studio (HMS)', a dedicated video organization within HYBE, will oversee production, utilizing its advanced production system and professional personnel accumulated over time.
Both companies anticipate that this collaboration will serve as an opportunity to connect global fans and artists more closely. HYBE stated that they aim to provide a chance to experience K-pop culture in a more friendly and enjoyable way through the new video podcast format. Gotam Talwa, Spotify's General Manager for the Asia-Pacific region, also expressed, "I am pleased to bring artists' personalities and creative journeys closer through our partnership with HYBE, and we will open a new chapter for fans to engage more closely with artists and K-pop culture."
