The 2026 Japan Movie Festival 'Login_Japanese Indie Cinema', co-hosted by the Japan Foundation Seoul Cultural Center and Etnine Film, will screen a total of 7 films from Friday, March 20 to Sunday, March 29. Under the catchphrase 'I’m Curious About Your Movie Now', the festival will showcase the latest Japanese independent films that highlight contemporary aspects of Japanese society, including 〈Sato-san〉, 〈104-Year-Old Grandma Tetsuyo Living Alone〉, 〈What Should I Have Done?〉, 〈A Woman Named An〉, 〈The Enemy is Coming〉, 〈Underground〉, and the film 〈Ryuichi Sakamoto: Diary〉 which is set to be released in Korea on April 1.
The official poster for the 2026 Japan Movie Festival, released alongside the festival news, captures the diverse human figures that will be encountered through the screenings in a striking visual. The images of characters symbolizing different generations and facets of life make the stories that will be presented in this exhibition even more intriguing. Additionally, the typography 'INDIE' placed within a bold red circular graphic compresses the energy and vibrancy of independent films, further elevating expectations for this event.
The 2026 Japan Movie Festival 'Login_Japanese Indie Cinema' will be available at the Art Nine cinema located in Dongjak-gu, Seoul from March 20 to 29.
