Kim Sung-cheol, “’Death Note’ L, It Stays Fun No Matter How Many Times You Do It”

Under a languid spring sun, actor Kim Sung-cheol’s relaxed everyday life was captured.

On the 31st, his agency, Story J Company, unveiled Kim Sung-cheol’s photo shoot A-cut with fashion magazine Harper’s BAZAAR’s April issue, drawing fans’ attention.

This photo shoot was carried out with the concept of “Spring Fever,” capturing the season’s uniquely lyrical and comfortable atmosphere. Kim Sung-cheol radiated intense eyes in front of blooming flower trees, and in black-and-white photos, he maximized his natural charm with restrained poses, showcasing why he’s known for excelling in photo shoots.

In an interview conducted alongside the photo shoot, Kim Sung-cheol revealed deep affection for the musical 〈Death Note〉(Death Note) in which he is currently appearing. Regarding the background of taking on the role of L again, he said, “L is a character that’s fun no matter how many times you do it—I genuinely love him,” adding, “It’s surprising that even after so many episodes, I still feel, ‘I want to do it even better.’” He also did not forget his vow to work tirelessly to meet the expectations of the audience.

His serious attitude toward acting and life also stood out. Kim Sung-cheol shared his philosophy that he wants to enjoy every moment, believing himself to be “someone with no limits.” He conveyed his belief that focusing on what to fill your “bowl” with—rather than trying to make your “bowl” bigger—will ultimately lead to even better performances. At the end of the interview, he added a humble yet passionate reflection, saying, “The fact that I can keep working is, to me, the biggest source of inspiration and gratitude.”
