You’ll be able to watch Director Lee Jun-ik’s short drama soon.
On the 7th, Resin Entertainment said that the first short drama directed by Director Lee Jun-ik, 〈Father’s Home-Cooked Meal〉, wrapped all filming on March 24 and has moved on to post-production.
〈Father’s Home-Cooked Meal〉, an original content on the short-drama platform Resin Snack, is based on the webtoon of the same name by writer Gori-ta. After his wife, “Soo-ae,” can no longer cook due to an accident, her husband, “Ha-eung,” makes home-cooked meals for the first time, and the story depicts how their family relationships change through it. While maintaining the tone of the original work, the development was restructured around episodes to fit the short-drama format.
〈Father’s Home-Cooked Meal〉 features actors Jeong Jin-young, Lee Jeong-eun, and Byun Yo-han as the main characters. Jeong Jin-young plays “Ha-eung,” the husband who has kept a lifetime distance from the kitchen and ends up taking responsibility for home-cooked meals for the first time in place of his wife. Lee Jeong-eun portrays “Soo-ae,” the wife who had long been responsible for the dining table but suddenly forgets how to cook. Byun Yo-han plays “Myung-bok,” the couple’s son, depicting the changes within the family as he watches from the sidelines and tries to solve the problems.
Having made films such as 〈A Bittersweet Life〉, 〈Dongju〉, and 〈The King and the Man〉, Director Lee Jun-ik is taking on a vertical short-drama format for the first time with this work. He said, “Within a vertical frame, we’ll be able to observe the deep corners of the characters clearly,” adding, “We set things up so that we won’t miss the good parts of the original, while the story can grow deeper.”
〈Father’s Home-Cooked Meal〉 is scheduled to be exclusively released through Resin Snack in the second half of 2026.
