Kang Dong-won X Um Tae-goo X Park Ji-hyun as a mixed-gender group! The movie 〈Wild Thing〉 opens on June 3. 〈Wild Thing〉 is a comedy about a once-dominant pop trio, the mixed-gender dance group 'Triangle', who disbanded overnight after an unexpected incident and, twenty years later, embark on a reckless challenge to seize a second chance at a comeback. Cineplay reporter Kim Ji-yeon shares her impressions after watching the film at the press screening.
Kim Ji-yeon / ★★★★ / A bizarre, crazy commercial film of the kind we haven't seen in a while
An unexpected crime(?) action(?) road movie. I didn't expect it to be this wild—truly a Wild Thing. It's a well-crafted farce in which former singers literally 'race' toward the stage one more time. Every summer sees plenty of comedies designed to make you laugh from start to finish, but it's rare to find one whose laughs land as often as this. It's a strange, crazy film whose laughs still connect even after multiple viewings. Whether it's positive or negative is up to each viewer; as for me, I'm firmly on the positive side.
