'Billboard' launches a long reign, with 'BTS' recognized as K-pop’s absolute top power
The full-length album 'ARIRANG' ('ARIRANG') by global top-tier group 'BTS', its fifth studio release, ranked in the Top 10 for eight straight weeks on the U.S. 'Billboard' main album chart, proving an overwhelming run of long-term commercial success. According to the latest chart released on the 19th (local time), the album logged No. 8 on 'Billboard 200'. After setting a remarkable record of being No. 1 for three consecutive weeks—the first time in K-pop history right after release—it continues to firmly hold its position in the upper ranks.
The title track 'SWIM' ('SWIM') also secured No. 34 on the main single chart 'Hot 100', once again confirming its powerful global impact. Notably, on global charts excluding the U.S., it rose to the top for the sixth time in total, earning praise for elevating K-pop’s status to another level.

'Cortis'’s successful debut and the pop emperor 'Michael Jackson'’s syndrome-fueled chart comeback
The global leap of 'Cortis', the direct junior group of 'BTS', is also fierce. Their mini-album 'GREENGREEN' ('GREENGREEN') debuted straight at No. 3 on 'Billboard 200', declaring a successful debut as the vanguard of a generational shift in K-pop.
On top of that, a full-spectrum takeover of the charts by K-pop artists added even more momentum. The 'Dracula' ('Dracula') remix version of 'Tame Impala' featuring 'Jennie' held onto No. 10 on 'Hot 100'. Meanwhile, Netflix animated series 'K-pop Demon Hunters'’ OST album took No. 22 on 'Billboard 200', and the included track 'Golden' ('Golden') claimed No. 13 on 'Hot 100'. Even the rookie girl group 'KATSEYE' pulled off the feat of entering both of the two main charts at the same time.
Elsewhere, on the main charts, masterpieces by the pop emperor 'Michael Jackson' are triggering an unusual chart comeback craze, helped by the release effect of an electrifying film. With as many as 11 albums and songs re-entering the main charts, legendary classics such as 'Thriller' ('Thriller') and 'Number Ones' ('Number Ones') climbed to No. 5 and No. 6 on 'Billboard 200', while the legendary hit 'Billie Jean' ('Billie Jean') surged to No. 15 on 'Hot 100', showcasing the timeless grip of a pop icon.
