Netflix unveiled on the 26th press stills capturing key scenes from its new original series 〈Teach You a Lesson〉 ahead of its release on June 5.
〈Teach You a Lesson〉 is an action drama depicting the work of the “Office for Teacher Rights Protection,” a fictional government agency created to restore a collapsed education environment. Based on the webtoon of the same name, it follows the process of addressing various problems at education sites, including school violence.
The released press stills show members of the Office for Teacher Rights Protection approaching the case in different ways. Kim Moo-yeol plays “Na Hwa-jin,” a supervisor who guides students in an auditorium, while Jin Ki-ju (as Lim Han-rim) and Pyo Ji-hun (as Bong Geun-dae) demonstrate a setup in which they disguise themselves as students to infiltrate the school. Lee Sung-min also joins as “Choi Kang-seok,” the central figure of the Office for Teacher Rights Protection, adding weight to the team.
Hong Jong-chan, who directed dramas including 〈少年審判〉 and 〈Dear My Friends〉, directed this series. The screenplay was penned by writers Lee Nam-gyu, Kim Da-hee and Moon Jong-ho. Production was carried out jointly by YLAB and GTist.
The production team explained that, through the setting of the Office for Teacher Rights Protection, they unraveled real education issues with the genres of action and drama. The press stills include not only action scenes, but also moments in which Na Hwa-jin and Choi Kang-seok communicate with students, hinting at the series’ narrative aspects.
Netflix series 〈Teach You a Lesson〉 is scheduled to be released through Netflix to more than 190 countries worldwide at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 5.
