A theater wrapped in a violet tide—‘Purple Night in Busan’ for ARMY
More than just a viewing experience, it’s a place for complete rest. Lotte Cinema has unveiled an unprecedented late-night sanctuary built for the world’s ‘ARMY’.
A fortress-like retreat that preserves the concert’s afterglow, ‘Reinterpreting Space’
The notion that a cinema is only a place to watch movies is outdated. To commemorate ‘BTS’’s Busan concert, Lotte Cinema has built a strategic late-night sanctuary for fan communities in Korea and abroad. The special late-night screening ‘Purple Night in Busan’, set for two days on the 12th and 13th at the Busan flagship store, is an innovative plan that goes beyond the limits of theater infrastructure.
‘BTS World Tour Arirang in Busan’ will heat up the Busan Asiad Main Stadium. In step with this massive mega event, the idea was to offer a ‘Premium Lounge’ where fans can stay safely and comfortably amid the crowds.
A ‘Cinematic Late-Night Journey’ shared with the gaze of masters
The screening lineup also boasts uncompromising quality. On the nights of the 12th and 13th, the works that will fill the screens across two sessions are packed with masterworks from directors who rule the global film world.
‘The Goat in the Box’ : Director Hirokazu Koreeda, a master of meticulous direction
‘Disclosure Day’ : A spectacle from Hollywood legend director Steven Spielberg
‘Collective’ : A problem film from Yeon Sang-ho, a director who built an unmistakable universe
In particular, to maximize the accessibility of the global fandom, Yeon Sang-ho’s ‘Collective’ will receive full English subtitles. It’s careful consideration aimed at breaking down language barriers and bringing audiences around the world together.
Morning welcomes you in top-of-the-line recliners—‘Ultimate Rest Benefits’
The highlight of this concept is undoubtedly the ‘Sleep and Rest Service’ that follows after the screenings end. Guests can rest their bodies in premium recliner seats until 7 a.m. the next morning, while carrying the afterglow of the screen. Lotte Cinema said it will provide ‘earplugs’ and ‘heated eye masks’ free of charge to all attendees to create an ideal environment for perfect sleep.
A Lotte Cinema official said, “We wanted to provide fans with practical, differentiated convenience through the best comfort the theater has to offer,” adding, “It will become a symbolic base where fans who look at the same place gather together and safely share the overwhelming emotions of ‘BTS concerts’.”
