Busan, a holy site for global fandoms, and the “Welcome Center” at its heart

The Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Tourism Organization will operate a once-in-a-generation hospitality hub at Busan Station’s “Busan Eurasia Platform” from the 5th to the 21st. Drawing in fans and tourists around the world, this site has been designated as an official stop on the “BTS The City” project run by “HYBE”, triggering intense global attention.

Innovations that raise the quality of travel, and the evolution of “experience-based content”

Practical services designed with visitors’ routes in mind also stand out. To free guests from heavy luggage and let them enjoy Busan fully, the center will roll out a baggage storage and delivery system in cooperation with “Jim Carry”. The interior space is a concentration of the latest trends.

  • “Music Experience Zone” and “K-Beauty Zone” that stimulate all five senses

  • “Photoism Booth,” the place to get fandom credentials for your photo

  • An artificial intelligence (AI) experience booth for “Google Gemini”

Operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., but from the 10th to the 16th—when a surge of global crowds is expected—the center will be designated as a “Special Operation Period” and will extend operations into the late night, running until 10 p.m.

A daring blend of tradition and modernity, with all of Busan becoming a “festival venue”

In tandem with the opening of the Welcome Center, the areas around Busan Station Plaza and the vicinity of Gimhae International Airport are also transforming into a massive festival space. In the middle of Busan Station Plaza, a large-scale sculpture of the “K-Pop Listener Bugi”—standing 5 meters tall and boasting overwhelming grandeur—has been installed, signaling the birth of a new landmark photo spot.

Then, on the following 12th and 13th, “Busan Popup Stores” featuring local charm will open, and performances along the Busan International Dance Festival street will add to the festival atmosphere. In particular, at the busking plaza on the second floor of Busan Station, traditional art performances themed around “Arirang”—including Milyang Baekjung Nori and Gamni-gae Juldang-gigi—will be staged, with plans to leave the depth of K-culture with audiences around the world.

A megawatt event meets local flair, shifting “tourism paradigms”

Kim Kyung-deok, the acting governor of the Busan city government, laid out a strong vision for the project. “We will keep discovering original tourism content that meticulously links large-scale international events with local festivals,” he said, adding, “Beyond just visiting, we will maximize time spent on site, drive an explosive boost to the local economy, and encourage powerful repeat visits.”
