Busan City has launched a comprehensive public-private joint plan to eradicate overpriced accommodation ahead of the BTS World Tour concert scheduled for June 12-13.

On the 23rd, Busan City announced that it held a meeting with the relevant city departments, seven autonomous districts including Haeundae and Suyeong, Busan Tourism Organization, and accommodation, dining, and consumer-related organizations to review comprehensive response measures to establish price order.

During the meeting, they focused on discussing practical countermeasures that the city can take, considering the institutional limitations in directly sanctioning overpriced charges.

As a special measure, Busan City plans to promote the temporary opening of public accommodation facilities such as university dormitories, auxiliary facilities, and youth training centers to stabilize accommodation prices during large events.

Additionally, they plan to expand support for good price businesses and significantly increase the designation of new good price accommodation businesses before the concert.

They will hold a public-private joint price stabilization campaign and a resolution meeting for self-improvement among business operators to encourage merchants' self-regulatory efforts. For accommodation businesses that receive reports of overpriced charges, immediate inspections and improvement measures will be implemented, and the results will be promptly communicated to the reporters.

Busan City intends to implement four key tasks: rapid identification and securing of available accommodation during large events, quick on-site inspections in case of reported complaints, designation of good price businesses with incentives and promotions, and expansion of public-private cooperation campaigns.
