Jin Sun-kyu Says He Called in a Favor for Yoona's Cameo in 〈Husbands〉, Hopes for 〈Wives〉 Sequel

Jin Sun-kyu explained how Yoona came to make a cameo in Netflix's 〈Husbands〉.

In an interview with Cineplay in Seoul's Jongno District on the afternoon of the 22nd, lead actor Jin Sun-kyu spoke about the film. Released on the 19th, the Netflix film 〈Husbands〉 is an action-comedy about an ex-husband and a current husband who, as they try to rescue a wife kidnapped by a crime ring, reluctantly team up for an unpredictable rescue operation. At the end of the film, Yoona makes a special appearance as the wife of Yoon Kyung-ho's character, Yong-gang.

On how that cameo came about, Jin Sun-kyu said, "Yoona and I worked together on 〈Confidential Assignment〉. After that, when Yoona was doing 〈King the Land〉, she called me and asked if she could make a special appearance. I was so grateful then that Yoona said she would make a special appearance in one of my projects sometime. So this time, I decided to call in that favor."

Asked whether the final scene hints at a sequel, Jin Sun-kyu said, "While filming, I thought that if 〈Husbands〉 does well, I'd rather see 〈Wives〉 come out than 〈Husbands 2〉. If that opportunity really comes, I'd love it. Then I'll have to call Yoona right away," he joked.

The film 〈Husbands〉 was released on Netflix on the 19th and is currently streaming.
