Gong Myung: '80% of Why I Appeared in 〈Husbands in Action〉 Was Jin Seon-kyu'

Gong Myung revealed the reason he appeared in 〈Husbands in Action〉.

Speaking with Cineplay at an undisclosed location in Seoul's Jongno District on the afternoon of the 22nd, 〈Husbands in Action〉 lead actor Gong Myung discussed the film. Released on the 19th on Netflix, 〈Husbands in Action〉 is a comedy-action movie about an unpredictable rescue operation in which an ex-husband and the current husband, who end up joining forces by chance, try to free a wife kidnapped by a criminal organization. In the film, Gong Myung plays Min-seok, a young, handsome veterinarian and the current husband of Si-nae (Kang Han-na).

Jin Seon-kyu and Gong Myung are known to have built a close friendship after working together on 〈Extreme Job〉. Asked why he took the role, Gong Myung said, "I'd say about 80% of the reason I decided to appear was because of Jin Seon-kyu. Saying that might make the director feel a bit hurt." He added, "I nearly connected with director Park Kyu-tae during 〈6/45〉, but the timing didn't work out, so I couldn't do it. That made me really want to work with him this time."

〈Husbands in Action〉 was released on Netflix on the 19th and is currently streaming.
