Disney+’s original series 〈Killer Shopping Mall〉—which swept the world into a “Killer Shopping Mall” frenzy—has confirmed the release of its second season on July 22. Along with the announcement, the series let viewers know that Jin-man—an uncle they believed was dead (Lee Dong-wook)—will have his hidden story fully unveiled, drawing intense interest from fans around the world.

In the previous season, Lee Dong-wook played “Jin-man,” a tsundere uncle and a former ace mercenary, showcasing his twisty appeal and sparking explosive reactions. He said “It’s an honor just to be able to return with Season 2, and I’m happy that I can show you once again the side of Jin-man I’m focused on.”

The newly released stills show Jin-man back alive, seemingly setting up a massive counterattack alongside the “Murder Help” team, adding to the intrigue. Through Season 2, Lee Dong-wook promised to reveal an even deeper and more diverse range of his character. He said “Jin-man is a person whose emotional fluctuations aren’t very big, and he has almost never shown those feelings outward. In this season, you’ll be able to see moments where those emotions are revealed.” He added to the anticipation about what kind of incident will bring about a change in Jin-man. Director Lee Gwon—who is also in charge of directing—said “In Season 2, there will be more scenes where even Jin-man expresses his emotions a little more than before as he goes through many trials and pains.” Attention is now focused on Lee Dong-wook’s standout performance, which brings the emotional storyline—heavier and deeper—into full three-dimensional form, all without wavering in his cool steadiness.

Along with that, expectations are also high for Lee Dong-wook’s upgraded action, which added genre-level catharsis with flawless action in Season 1. Continuing the partnership from the previous work, martial arts director Jeon Jae-hyeong praised Lee Dong-wook, saying “He’s an already fully formed action actor when it comes to action.” As a result, Lee Dong-wook handles most of the action scenes himself, from gunfights to barehanded combat to wire action, which has left audiences astonished. Jeon Jae-hyeong added “In this Season 2, action will unfold in new spaces that you haven’t seen until now. In the darkness, we trained a tremendous amount so we could handle everything—action scenes, wire scenes, and more—without using stand-ins.” Observers are set to pay close attention to the birth of even more realistic, higher-completion action set pieces. Lee Dong-wook also said “The action is even more flashy.” and added “I prepared with the mindset of not disappointing expectations.” His special resolve makes the wait for Season 2 even more exciting.

After completing a punishing handover, “Jian” (Kim Hye-jun)—who becomes the new representative of the shopping mall—returns alive, and together with “Jin-man” (Lee Dong-wook), she launches a full-scale counterattack against the global forces of “Babylon” in the stylish action series 〈Killer Shopping Mall Season 2〉. The series will premiere on Disney+, starting with the release of Episodes 1 and 2 on Wednesday, July 22, and then with two episodes each Wednesday thereafter—eight episodes in total.
