Director Lee Kwon of 〈 Killer Shop 〉, currently in production for Season 2, laid out the series’ starting point.
Disney+ original series 〈 Killer Shop 〉 is gearing up to produce Season 2 two years after the first season, drawing strong anticipation from viewers. Following Season 1, in which Kim Hye-yoon, who plays Jian—the nephew’s Jian—gets attacked by killers after taking over the shopping mall left behind by her uncle Jin-man, played by Lee Dong-wook, Season 2 picks up with Jin-man, thought to be dead, returning in front of Jian, now a new representative.
Director Lee Kwon, who is returning to helm Season 2 after Season 1, said, “(After Season 1 ended) I think viewers probably had the biggest question about ‘Where on earth was Jang Jin-man that day?’ So Season 2 starts from what ‘Jin-man’ was doing that day.” He added that he planned the story from the viewers’ perspective, and promised that the mystery will be resolved in this season. He also said, “What kind of reaction will ‘Jian’ show after hearing the truth from the ‘Jin-man’ who came back alive? How will the two’s relationship change? And where did ‘Babylon,’ the core of the villain group, come from, and what kind of place is it?” Through those questions, he said he worked out the story—while also whetting curiosity about Jian’s awakening in Season 2 and about the full substance of Babylon, which will be revealed in earnest.
In particular, he said, “In Season 1, we showed what kind of relationship ‘Jin-man’ and ‘Jian’ had, and in Season 2, where all that buildup ends, the world will expand further and a story that keeps running forward will unfold.” He said the unavoidable face-off between Murder Help and Babylon will be intensified with even stronger action, marking the start of a new chapter that keeps viewers from looking away even for a moment. Currently, 〈 Killer Shop 〉 Season 2 is expected to reach audiences around the world through Disney+ in July.
