Chiwetel Ejiofor returns the love Korean audiences have shown for 〈TheBackrooms〉.
Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor has released a video letter to Korean audiences through the distributor, Byvos Studio, for 〈TheBackrooms〉. In the film, Ejiofor takes on the role of Clark, the furniture store owner who discovers the backrooms, and he said, “I offer my heartfelt thanks to all Korean viewers who came to watch the movie.”
He added that he couldn’t fully hide his happiness about the film surpassing 1 million cumulative viewers. “They say it’s the highest audience count in seven years among foreign-language horror thriller genres, and I’m really happy and thrilled,” he said. “I’m truly and deeply grateful to Korean audiences for enjoying, participating in, and loving the movie,” he said again, expressing his thanks to Korean viewers who have returned to 〈TheBackrooms〉 once more.
〈TheBackrooms〉 tells the story of Clark and Mary as they face inexplicable events in an odd space under endless yellow walls and fluorescent lights, and it is currently at 1.12 million viewers. Observers are paying close attention to the long-term box-office run of 〈TheBackrooms〉, which captured Korea’s theater crowd with its distinctive sense of horror.
