BOYNEXTDOOR added another notable achievement in Japan.
Japan Record Association Gold Certification and a Grip on Major Charts According to an announcement by the Japan Record Association on the 10th, BOYNEXTDOOR’s first full-length studio album HOME, made up of Seongho, Liu, Myeongjae-hyeon, Taesan, Lee Han, and Unhak, surpassed cumulative shipments of 100,000 copies and received a June Gold Disc certification for “Gold.” As a result, BOYNEXTDOOR pulled off the feat of earning Gold Disc certifications in Korea for four consecutive releases, starting with its mini albums 3 through 5 and then this first studio album. After the new release swept the top spots on Oricon’s weekly album ranking and weekly combined ranking, as well as taking No. 1 on Billboard Japan’s “Top Album Sales” and “Hot Albums,” it also climbed to No. 2 on Oricon’s June monthly album chart, recording the highest ranking and sales among K-pop artists active during the same period.
All Former Members Take Part in the Album, and It Claims a Million-Seller on Debut Week The group’s relentless rise overseas has also been proven in the United States. HOME entered the U.S. main album chart, the Billboard 200, at No. 16—an improvement of 24 spots over its own previous best set by its prior release The Action, which peaked at No. 40. In Korea, it also joined the ranks of million-sellers by selling 1,041,802 copies in its first week based on Hanteo Chart’s tally. This album is an autobiographical record that authentically unpacks the experiences and feelings the six members went through before and around their debuts. Every member took part in writing and composing all nine tracks, including the title track VIRAL, as well as “Ttok Ttok Ttok,” “06070,” “ADIOS!,” and “DIVE,” firmly solidifying the team’s signature color.
All Seats Sold Out in Seoul and Busan…Momentum Builds for the First World Tour After running a successful comeback race by sweeping global charts, BOYNEXTDOOR is riding that momentum into its first world tour, BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR ‘KNOCK ON Vol.2’. The group will open the grand curtain-raiser for the world tour in Seoul at the KSPO DOME (formerly the Jamsil Indoor Stadium) from August 17 to 19, then carry the heat forward at the Busan Sajik Indoor Gymnasium from July 31 to August 2. In particular, for both the Seoul and Busan performances, all sessions sold out completely as soon as ticket sales began, letting fans feel once again the group’s powerful ticket pull and broad popular appeal.
