A 'political aftershock' hits Olympic Park, triggering a major exodus in the live music industry

The band 'N.Flying'(N.Flying) is finally leaving 'Olympic Park Handball Stadium'. Amid the fallout from the 'vote-counting site blockade protest', now in a prolonged phase, hitting the broader culture and arts sector, the decision is seen as unavoidable to protect fans and deliver a flawless stage.

Agency FNC Entertainment announced through its official channels on the 10th that it has abruptly changed the stage for the Seoul show of '2026 N.Flying LIVE N.Con5 : Into L.E.M'(N.Flying LIVE N.Con5 : Into L.E.M), scheduled from the 31st of this month through the 2nd of next month, to 'Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium'. The agency said, "Given that the handball stadium cannot be used normally in the current situation, this is the best choice to ensure the most stable and smooth 'concert environment' for audiences." It also asked fans for a deep apology for the delayed notice, citing the time required to secure an alternative booking venue and complete the final approval procedures.

At present, the domestic pop and live entertainment industries in South Korea are facing an unprecedented crisis due to the 'protest dragging on' that has paralyzed the Olympic Park area. The protest was sparked by outrage over a shortage of ballot papers for the 'nationwide simultaneous local elections' held last month on the 3rd, and it has continued for more than a month amid an unyielding standoff.

The resulting 'domino disruption' has already become reality. HYBE’s 'Weverse Con' pulled off a fiasco that fully overhauled on-site audience routes, while NEXON’s large-scale 'MapleStory' showcase was hurriedly moved to Ilsan’s KINTEX. The damage does not stop there. Singer 'Park Seo-jin' faced an unprecedented situation in which her Seoul encore concert was completely canceled, and even the solo concert by TVXQ’s 'U-Know Yunho', scheduled to launch in mid-month, has moved its stage to Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium—further spreading the 'exodus in the concert world' without control.
