Figure Skater Cha Jun-hwan Debuts as Sung Jin-woo in 'Solo Leveling on ICE'

Figure skater Cha Jun-hwan has successfully completed the first performance of the ice show 'Solo Leveling on ICE.' Fantagio said on Aug. 11 that Cha appeared as lead character Sung Jin-woo in the Aug. 7 performance at the indoor ice rink in Seoul's Mokdong Sports Complex.

Based on the popular webtoon and web novel of the same name, 'Solo Leveling on ICE' is an ice show about a protagonist once considered humanity’s weakest weapon who, after awakening, grows into the strongest hunter. In the show, Cha Jun-hwan plays Sung Jin-woo, portraying the character’s growth through his skating, spoken acting and musical numbers.

Cha also took part directly in co-creating and directing the choreography. He won praise for incorporating the original character’s emotional arc into the choreography, enhancing the production’s overall quality. 'Solo Leveling on ICE,' which Cha is leading as his first musical-style ice show, runs at the Mokdong Ice Rink through Aug. 17.
