Global streaming platform Netflix has officially confirmed production of a new noir action series, "Grandma". The project reunites actors Lee Jung-eun and Kim Moo-yeol four years after they delivered powerful performances together in 2022's "Juvenile Justice," drawing attention from viewers worldwide.

Based on a popular webtoon of the same name, "Grandma" begins when an ordinary woman in her 70s takes up a gun again for her grandson. Her merciless campaign of revenge against the powerful crime syndicate Cheonghwa Group will unfold alongside the story of an ally who awakens her instincts as a hunter.

Lee Jung-eun will play Jeong Suk-ja, who pulls out the gun she has hidden for decades after the grandson she raised while running a restaurant alone is attacked under mysterious circumstances, promising a dramatic transformation. Kim Moo-yeol will play Seo Yeon-woo, a strategist and ally who orchestrates the revenge plot and maintains the drama's taut tension.

Heo Joon-ho has been cast as Jang Gwang-cheol, chairman of Cheonghwa Group and the target of the revenge campaign, promising a chilling, imposing villain. Choi Sung-eun, Bae Na-ra, Seo Hyun-woo and Moon Jong-won will also join the cast, further raising the series' quality with their proven acting skills.

Lee Kwon, who successfully directed the Disney+ original "The Killer's Shopping List," will direct the series, while writer Kim Hee-soo will build a richly layered noir world. The project is poised to become a polished series combining Netflix's signature intensity and action with a compelling story. A specific release schedule will be announced later.
