A Netflix series 〈Teach You a Lesson〉 that depicts the unyielding efforts of the Office for Protection of Teachers’ Authority, which stands with victims and sets schools back on track, has, within just eight weeks of release, logged a total of 60.2 million views (the number of viewing hours divided by the work’s total runtime), firmly placing it among the most popular series in Netflix history. As a Korean-made series, it marks the fourth win following 〈Squid Game〉 Seasons 1, 2, and 3, and now, of the 10 most-watched non-English series for Netflix viewers, a full 4 are Korean productions.

The achievements of 〈Teach You a Lesson〉 are yet another example showing that Korean works are once again demonstrating their global popularity and influence. The series not only held on to the No. 1 spot worldwide for four weeks starting in its first week after release, but in the second week it dominated the TOP 10 in 91 countries, keeping the momentum going. Even now, with eight weeks having passed, it remains within the top 10 viewing rankings, proving it has enduring popularity.
According to Netflix’s “What We Watched” report on viewing status for the first half of 2026, released in mid-July, among the top 10 series by view counts in the first half of this year, 5 of them were all first-season works, the same way 〈Teach You a Lesson〉 is. It shows that not only known works but also new titles are being widely discovered and winning the love of viewers. In addition, even the most successful works around the world show that the share of views for a single title is less than 1% of the total, suggesting that Netflix’s success comes not from a handful of hits but from the strength of its entire catalog and its diverse lineup.
