'The Artist' Director Michel Hazanavicius and Bérénice Bejo to Visit Korea for First Time at BIAF2026

The two stars of 〈The Artist〉 are set to visit Korea.

The two stars of Oscar winner 'The Artist' are coming to Korea The 28th Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF2026) announced Sept. 7 that it had specially invited Michel Hazanavicius, director of the film 〈The Artist〉, and lead actress Bérénice Bejo. The two will attend a master class held in connection with the France special exhibition 'Twinkle Twinkle France,' organized to mark the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France this year.

Master director's first feature-length animated film to have Asian premiere Michel Hazanavicius, who presented 〈The Artist〉, an homage to silent cinema, will also screen his first feature-length animated film, 〈The Most Precious of Cargoes〉, at this year's festival. The film, which will have its Asian premiere, was officially selected for the competition section of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.

Bérénice Bejo's voice performance and BIAF2026 schedule Bérénice Bejo, who played Peppy Miller in 〈The Artist〉, will also meet audiences through 〈1975, The Killing Fields, Funan〉, which features her voice performance and won the Annecy International Animation Film Festival's top prize for a feature film. The 28th Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF2026), an Academy Award-qualifying international film festival, will be held for five days from Friday, Oct. 23, through Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2026.
