Minju, a member of ILLIT, has given one of Lee Hyo-ri's signature songs a fresh performance infused with her own appeal.
2003 megahit '10 Minutes' reborn with Minju's signature R&B sensibility BELIFT LAB said on the 7th that a cover video of Lee Hyo-ri's solo debut single '10 Minutes,' sung by Minju, was released without advance notice through ILLIT's official YouTube channel on the 6th. Minju arranged the original, released in 2003 and a nationwide sensation, in a polished R&B style. She added her characteristically dreamy, clear vocals and delicate groove, giving the song's confident mood a trendy new interpretation.
From song selection to chorus recording, Minju takes part firsthand and commands attention with Y2K visuals The video is Minju's first official solo cover project since her debut, and she helped shape the production from the planning stage through completion. She is said to have contributed ideas throughout, from selecting the song to vocal direction and chorus recording. The visuals also capture the essence of 2000s Y2K culture. The production uses lighting and wind effects to striking effect, while Minju's kitschy styling heightens viewers' immersion. "It's a song I usually enjoy listening to, so I really wanted people to hear it in my voice," Minju said. "It wasn't easy to capture the mood of that era, but I had fun working on it, and I hope many people enjoy it."
October encore concert to keep Minju connected with global fans After proving her versatile vocal abilities with the successful release of her first solo cover video, Minju will carry the momentum into the second half of the year through her main group activities. ILLIT, the group Minju belongs to, will hold its encore concert, 'ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START♥' ENCORE in KOREA,' at Incheon Inspire Arena from Oct. 10 to 18, giving the group a chance to share a special time with fans around the world.
