Kim Young-kwang, Lee Joo-myung set for power-imbalance romance in 'Queen of Training'… ENA premiere slated for first half of next year

When an apex predator meets a fearless veterinarian, a finely crafted romance is born

KT Studio Genie’s most anticipated series for the first half of next year, 'Queen of Training', has signed on actors 'Kim Young-kwang' and 'Lee Joo-myung'. The two will bring a fresh, never-before-seen 'romantic comedy' dynamic to ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama, according to an official announcement on the 30th.

The series follows the unlikely relationship between a 'hedge fund manager' who rules as the financial world’s apex predator and a 'contract veterinarian' at a zoo he acquired. The central draw is the tense yet playful push and pull created when a figure at the pinnacle of capitalism and a professional devoted to caring for living beings become entangled in an 'unequal power relationship.'

'Kim Young-kwang' plays Ma Ji-yong, a predator-like hedge fund manager who will use any means necessary to seize what he wants, bringing commanding charisma to the role. Opposite him, 'Lee Joo-myung' plays Jo Uri, a strong-willed veterinarian who refuses to bow to injustice, providing a counterbalance to the series.

The production team also lends credibility to the project. 'Director Song Hyun-wook', who has earned acclaim for his subtle, stylish work on 'Another Miss Oh,' 'The Beauty Inside' and 'The Red Sleeve', will direct. Writer Lee Min-young is penning a tightly constructed script, signaling the arrival of another finely crafted drama.
