ENA’s New Drama ‘Heart-Stoppering Romance’ Locks In a Golden Lineup to Sweep Living Rooms

Actors ‘Jung Kyung-ho’ and ‘Jeon Yeo-been’ return to living rooms with an audaciously set ‘romantic comedy’.

On the 15th, ‘ENA’ officially announced the casting of ‘Jung Kyung-ho’, ‘Jeon Yeo-been’, ‘Choi Dae-hoon’, and ‘Kang Mal-geum’ as the leads in its upcoming drama ‘Heart-Stoppering Romance’, scheduled to air in the first half of next year. This meeting of actors who have proven their exceptional acting skills is drawing attention both inside and outside the broadcasting industry.

The story spotlights the intense, adversarial chemistry between a star anchor ‘Na Ji-jun’ (played by Jung Kyung-ho), who suffers from early-onset menopause, and a screenwriter ‘Seo Hae-yoon’ (played by Jeon Yeo-been), who doesn’t hesitate to chase gossip news if it’s for higher ratings. The drama vividly traces how the two, struggling to revive a program that has plummeted to the bottom, come to realize the romance-related instincts they lost.

The addition of supporting cast members who have proven their solid acting chops further adds weight to the drama. ‘Choi Dae-hoon’ and ‘Kang Mal-geum’ portray a real-life, mature romance as a pair of divorced ‘divorcee couple’ in their 40s bearing the wounds of divorce. ‘Choi Dae-hoon’ will perfectly bring to life ‘Ji Han-su’, a broadcast reporter who longs to become an anchor but is held back by pronunciation limits, while ‘Kang Mal-geum’ will take on the role of ‘Heo Mi-eun’, Seo Hae-yoon’s mental pillar and a veteran screenwriter.

Direction is handled by ‘Director Lee Chang-min’, who earned recognition for his eye-catching visuals and directing ability through the drama ‘The Agency’. The script is written by the rising ‘Lee Re-Writer’, promising the birth of a well-made romantic comedy.
