The “full version of Episode 1” released on Monday the 21st through the official Disney Plus Korea YouTube channel, 10 days before the official premiere, surpassed 1.28 million cumulative views as of Sept. 29, proving the show’s explosive buzz early on. Hyun Jung-wan, who opened a new chapter in survival variety shows through the 〈Bloody Game〉 series, has joined forces with Disney+, which established itself as a “new survival powerhouse” after turning 〈War of Fate 49〉 into a megahit in the first half of 2026. Together, they are poised to reshape the survival variety-show landscape in the second half of this year. 

“I started 〈Tag Game〉 with the determination to create a survival game in a new format, rather than simply scaling up the board games I had previously made, so that more people could enjoy the survival genre I love,” Hyun said. Breaking free from the existing divide between brainpower- and physicality-based survival shows, he redesigned the universally familiar game of tag as a deceptive, high-stakes survival game, creating a more intuitive and dynamic competition. The 13 players race through a range of maps in signature chase outfits, pushing themselves to the limit in raw, breathless pursuits, while the production team brings their movements vividly to life through body cameras, drones and other filming techniques.

Park Ji-min predicted that “the dopamine will explode, as if you’re watching 4DX from your living room,” while Pani Bottle offered a hint: “A lot of people love the raids and heists in 〈Bloody Game〉, but in 〈Tag Game〉, every game feels like a raid or a heist.” Hwang Jae-gyun added, “If you miss the chase scenes from 〈Infinite Challenge〉, please look forward to our 〈Tag Game〉,” raising anticipation for a new survival show designed to satisfy an even broader audience.
