‘Future mobility’ innovation forged in extreme conditions

Hyundai Mobis’ documentary about its research and development process is earning global acclaim as its production quality wins recognition on the international stage. The film became a finalist for the second consecutive year in the Automotive category at the prestigious Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards, which honors outstanding corporate videos worldwide.

The achievement was more than a one-off success. After winning a Silver Award at North America’s Telly Awards in May, the film took home grand prizes in two categories—Documentary and Automotive—at the MUSE Creative Awards, one of Asia’s leading awards programs, completing a prestigious global triple crown.

The roughly 20-minute video, released to the public on YouTube, goes beyond conventional corporate promotion. It closely follows researchers as they work in the field to develop the chassis technologies at the heart of ‘future mobility,’ including the electro-mechanical brake (EMB), rear-wheel steering (RWS) and air suspension.

The Swedish winter proving ground, which serves as the video’s primary setting, presents extreme conditions, with temperatures dropping below 40 degrees Celsius. Viewers have praised the film for capturing with cinematic realism the sweat and determination of researchers who continually test the technology in bitter cold to improve the performance of new systems.

Meanwhile, Hyundai Mobis is strengthening its communication with the public through Mobis Live, a brand media site that offers content tailored to its audience. Its signature series, ‘Humanities-First Technology,’ explains complex automotive technology through a humanistic perspective and everyday language. Now in its fifth season, the series has surpassed 12 million cumulative views, demonstrating its powerful reach.
