Ko Ji-yong Returns to the Sechs Kies Stage After 10 Years, Reuniting With Lee Jae-jin and Jang Su-won in December

Ko Ji-yong, formerly of Sechs Kies, is set to take the stage with his fellow members again for the first time in about 10 years.

Three Sechs Kies members reunite after 10 years ahead of the group’s 30th anniversary

According to his agency, Mountain Movement Story, on Oct. 30, Ko Ji-yong will host “THE TREE in INSPIRE - Sechskies’ Untold Story” with Sechs Kies members Lee Jae-jin and Jang Su-won on Dec. 15 and 16 at Inspire Arena on Yeongjong Island in Incheon. The special event celebrates Sechs Kies, who debuted in 1997 and will mark their 30th anniversary next year. As the first official event featuring all three together, it will offer a variety of music and conversation, giving them a chance to connect deeply with fans.

Ko Ji-yong, who left show business for business, returns to the stage for the first time since “Infinite Challenge”

Above all, the event has drawn considerable attention because Ko Ji-yong, who has stayed away from the entertainment industry, is joining the group. After Sechs Kies disbanded in 2000, he left show business and became a businessman. Even during the 2016 reunion project on MBC’s variety show “Infinite Challenge,” he made only a surprise appearance at a guerrilla concert and ultimately did not participate in the group’s official activities. Having chosen an ordinary life as a businessman rather than life as an idol onstage, his decision to perform with the members again after about 10 years has sent fans’ anticipation soaring.

Putting personal hardships behind him, he returns to fans and promises heartfelt communication

Attention is also focused on Ko Ji-yong’s return to fans after a turbulent period in his personal life. In April 2024, he divorced by mutual agreement from family medicine specialist Heo Yang-im, who appeared with him on KBS2’s “The Return of Superman.” He is currently embroiled in a legal dispute over child support and visitation rights for their son. He went through a difficult period as health problems related to declining liver function compounded the challenges surrounding the divorce, but after recovering with ongoing treatment, he announced his return to activities with a new agency. Fans are watching to see what heartfelt message he will share through “Sechskies’ Untold Story” as he moves forward after hardship.
