Anupam Tripathi and AOA's Im Do-hwa, Occult Horror to be Released in August

<Squid Game>'s Anupam Tripathi and AOA's Im Do-hwa challenge the occult horror film <The Black Spirit> and attempt an image transformation. <The Black Spirit> is a story that begins on a full moon night, where Anuat (Anupam Tripathi), who hides a terrible past and secrets, meets Sua (Im Do-hwa), who is destined to die at the age of twenty-five, and faces a chilling fate.

Playing the role of 'Anuat', Anupam Tripathi is originally from India and started his acting career in South Korea through the AMA program, a national scholarship system at the Korea National University of Arts, in 2010. He completed his master's degree in acting at the Korea National University of Arts in February 2024. Anupam made his film debut in South Korea with <Ode to My Father> (2014) and has consistently acted in films such as <Asura>, <Lucky>, <Girl Cops>, and <Space Sweepers>, as well as dramas like <Descendants of the Sun>, <Arthdal Chronicles>, and <Hospital Playlist>. During this time, he became a global star, receiving immense love from audiences worldwide for his role as the kind-hearted and simple 'Ali Abdul' in the Netflix series <Squid Game>. In <The Black Spirit>, the character he plays, 'Anuat', has fled to Korea while hiding a terrible past but meets 'Sua', who is born with an inescapable cursed fate, and struggles to confront that destiny.

Im Do-hwa plays 'Sua', who is born with a terrible fate. She debuted in 2012 with the girl group AOA, which heated up South Korea, and began her acting career with a cameo in the web drama <Click Your Heart> in 2016. After officially debuting in the film <My Extraordinary Girl> in 2021, she is now challenging horror acting with <The Black Spirit>. The character 'Sua', played by Im Do-hwa, lives forgetting her shocking childhood memories and becomes entangled in a fate she cannot shake off once again on the full moon night of her twenty-fifth birthday. Furthermore, it is known that Im Do-hwa plays two roles in <The Black Spirit>, which has sparked curiosity. <The Black Spirit> is set to be released in August.
