Film Takes Home Best Film and Best Actor Awards, Achieving Double Victory

Actor Han Sun-hwa was recognized for her acting skills by winning the 'Korean Fantastic Best Actor Award' at the 29th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN).

At the closing ceremony of the 29th BIFAN held on the afternoon of the 11th at Bucheon City Hall, the winners of this year's awards were announced. The 'Bucheon Choice: Feature' (International Competition) Best Film Award went to <Ugly Sister> (directed by Emily Bleachfeld), and the Best Director Award was won by <Reflection>, while the 'Korean Fantastic: Feature' (Domestic Competition) saw the film <Student Teaching> (directed by Kim Min-ha) achieve a double victory.

The film <Student Teaching> won both the Best Film and Best Actor awards. The judges awarded <Student Teaching> the Best Film Award, stating, "We wanted to acknowledge the film's unique completeness without overlooking its light and entertaining surface." Meanwhile, actor Han Sun-hwa expressed her feelings upon receiving the Best Actor award for <Student Teaching>, saying, "I saw the completed film for the first time, and I felt good that it turned out well, reflecting everyone's efforts. I thought, 'This is why I want to continue acting.' I will continue to act hard with an unchanged heart in the future."

<Student Teaching> is a comic horror film where Eun-kyung (Han Sun-hwa), who comes to her alma mater for student teaching, chases the legend of the 'Black Magic Club' that consists of top students who never miss first place in language, math, and foreign language subjects, and battles subject-specific ghosts.
