Netflix Documentary 〈In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal〉 Sequel, 〈The Echoes of Survivors: Inside Korea's Tragedies〉 to be Released in August

The sequel to the Netflix documentary series 〈In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal〉, which caused social shock, will be released next month.

On the 16th, Netflix announced that the sequel documentary to 〈In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal〉, titled 〈The Echoes of Survivors: Inside Korea's Tragedies〉, will be released on August 15. The original 〈In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal〉, released in 2023, stirred significant waves in Korean society and raised social awareness about the issue of cults.

The new documentary covers four incidents: JMS (Christian Gospel Mission), Busan Brothers Home, the Jisunpa incident, and the collapse of the Sampoong Department Store, capturing the voices of survivors. Although these incidents have different natures, they share a common denominator as tragic events that occurred in Korean society.

Director Jo Sung-hyun stated, "Watching the miraculous woman Maple, who fought against a huge cult and ultimately won, made me discover the 'greatness of survival.'"
