From Drug Offender to Anti-Drug Ambassador... Don Spike Appears on JTBC YouTube

Don Spike appeared on a broadcast as an anti-drug ambassador.

The show ‘Genre Only Yeouido’, aired on JTBC's YouTube channel, invited Don Spike as a guest on July 24. Starting as a composer and appearing on various cooking programs, Don Spike was arrested in 2022 for drug possession and use. He admitted to the charges at that time and received a 2-year prison sentence, finishing his term and being released in March 2025.

During the broadcast, Don Spike apologized, saying, “I am sorry for causing trouble,” and shared his experiences from the circumstances that led him to drugs to his life after release. He stated that three years ago was the last time he used drugs and that he is currently undergoing rehabilitation treatment. He emphasized the dangers of drugs, saying, “Everyone thinks they can control it,” but ultimately, they cross the line and lose control, leading to the collapse of their lives.

Although Don Spike clarified through the MC that he is absolutely not planning a return to the entertainment industry, his appearance on the show has sparked controversy. Currently, he has no plans to return to the entertainment industry aside from this broadcast and is only involved in running a restaurant with his younger brother.
