A special stage where legendary artists of the Japanese jazz scene meet emerging singer-songwriters will unfold in Wakayama Prefecture this September.
On the 22nd, TORA Planning announced that 'JAZZ LIVE 2025' featuring Japan's representative jazz guitarist Takeshi Yamaguchi, wood bassist Veniceke Sakai, and singer-songwriter MAYU will be held on September 27 at 'RaRa Locale' in Tanabe City, Wakayama Prefecture.
This stage is particularly attracting attention as it brings together jazz masters and emerging artists who have made major debuts in J-POP. MAYU is a talented artist who made her major debut in 2006 under the name 'Chaima' produced by Tokish Matsumatsu and has continued her energetic activities to this day.
Takeshi Yamaguchi is a living legend in the Japanese jazz scene who has conducted tours in Japan with jazz master Ron Carter for over 20 years, while Veniceke Sakai is a veteran who has performed with leading musicians in the global jazz scene such as Hank Jones and Joe Henderson.
The organizers stated, 'We will present an ultimate healing experience that gently liberates the hearts of listeners with the groove of good jazz and the warm melodies of pop,' and added, 'We will convey new musical emotions through the fusion of jazz and J-POP.'
