Netflix has revealed the full casting for the 6-part limited series 'Pride and Prejudice', which is now officially in production. Based on Jane Austen's classic novel, the series is currently filming in the UK and has raised fans' expectations by showcasing the first images of the Bennet family women.
In this production, the lead role of Elizabeth Bennet will be played by Emma Corrin, who gained attention for 'The Crown', while the male lead, Mr. Darcy, will be portrayed by Jack Loudon from 'Duncan'. Notably, the role of Mrs. Bennet will be played by Academy Award winner Olivia Colman, and Rufus Sewell from 'The Diplomat' has been cast as the head of the Bennet family, highlighting a strong lineup of talented actors.
The casting of the five Bennet sisters is also generating buzz. The eldest daughter, Jane, will be played by Freya Mavor from 'Industry', and the youngest, Lydia, will be portrayed by Leah Norwood from 'Heartstopper'. Kitty will be played by Holly Avery and Mary by Hopie Parish, both of whom are debuting in this project as promising newcomers, having just graduated from LAMDA and Manchester School of Acting.

The supporting cast lineup is also impressive. The cunning Mr. Wickham will be played by Louis Partridge from 'Disclaimer', while the arrogant Mr. Collins will be portrayed by Jamie Demetriou from 'Stath Lets Flats'. Additionally, the fearsome Lady Catherine de Bourgh will be played by Fiona Shaw from 'Killing Eve', and Mr. Bingley, Jane's love interest, will be portrayed by Daryl McCormack from 'Wake Up Dead Man'.
The production team is also noteworthy. Bestselling author Dolly Alderton from 'Everything I Know About Love' is writing the script, while Euros Lyn, known for directing 'Doctor Who' and 'Sherlock', will be at the helm. The two will oversee production alongside Emma Corrin, ensuring the quality of the project. Laura Lancaster, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter from Lookout Point are also involved in production, with Lisa Osborn serving as producer.
This adaptation of 'Pride and Prejudice' aims to stay true to the original novel, generating excitement. It is set to present a new interpretation following the 1995 BBC version and the 2005 film starring Keira Knightley. There is particular interest in how Netflix's global production capabilities and the proven cast will create synergy.
The first still image released to commemorate the start of production features Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet with her five daughters, garnering a warm response from fans. The lavish costumes and sets set against the backdrop of 19th-century British high society, along with the actors' perfect character synchronization, are already making headlines.
Having been loved by readers worldwide for over 200 years, 'Pride and Prejudice' is highly anticipated to be reborn in a new form through Netflix in 2025, and there is great expectation for what message it will convey to modern viewers.
