Director Na Hong-jin, known for 〈The Chaser〉 and 〈Gokseong〉, breaks a 10-year silence and returns to theaters.

Distributor Plus M Entertainment confirmed on the morning of the 30th that Na Hong-jin's new film 〈Hope〉 (HOPE) will be released in theaters in summer 2026 and revealed casting images. The film is a sci-fi action thriller dealing with mysterious events that occur with rumors of a tiger appearing in the remote port village of 'Hopo Port' near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), starring Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, Jung Ho-yeon, Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander, and Michael Fassbender.

Hwang Jung-min, who reunites with director Na Hong-jin after 〈Gokseong〉, plays the role of 'Beom-seok', the head of the Hopo Port office. Jo In-sung plays the young man 'Seong-gi' who confronts the unknown entity, while Jung Ho-yeon portrays the police officer 'Seong-ae' with strong beliefs. Additionally, Michael Fassbender from the 〈X-Men〉 series and 〈Alien: Covenant〉 and Alicia Vikander from 〈The Danish Girl〉 and 〈Tomb Raider〉 will appear as alien characters, joined by Taylor Russell, a winner of the Venice Film Festival Best New Actor award, and Cameron Britton from 〈Mindhunter〉, creating a lineup that spans both Korea and Hollywood.

The movie 〈Hope〉 is set to meet Korean audiences in theaters in summer 2026.
