Ozzy Osbourne Passes Away at 76...Death Certificate Records 'Rock Legend'

Ozzy Osbourne, known as the godfather of heavy metal and 'rock legend', has passed away at the age of 76. His death certificate symbolically records his profession as 'Songwriter, Performer and Rock Legend', showcasing his musical achievements and status.

According to a report by The New York Times, Osbourne died on July 22 from 'out-of-hospital cardiac arrest', as stated in the death certificate. Emergency medical personnel responded to his home and attempted resuscitation for two hours, but ultimately could not save his life.

Osbourne's death occurred shortly after he and the original members of Black Sabbath completed their final performance in Birmingham, England, honoring the band's enduring legacy and influence. This performance is regarded as a symbolic moment in the history of heavy metal.

Osbourne publicly revealed in January 2020 that he had been suffering from Parkinson's disease since 2003, and in 2019, he underwent neck surgery after falling at his home in Los Angeles. However, despite health challenges, his passion for the stage never waned. In August 2022, he performed in front of 30,000 spectators at the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham.

In an interview with People magazine a month after the performance, Osbourne stated, 'The only thing that makes me feel my age is that my body doesn't work properly,' adding, 'My mind is still young.' He has shown a desire to continue performing live despite health issues.

Osbourne and Black Sabbath are regarded as pioneers of the heavy metal genre with hits like 'Paranoid', 'War Pigs', and 'Iron Man'. After leaving the band, Osbourne enjoyed a successful solo career and later returned to the band through reunion tours and album projects. He will be remembered not only for his music but also as a pioneer of reality TV shows, having a significant impact on popular culture.
