〈Wednesday〉 Season 2 Main Cast Visits Korea

Netflix series 〈Wednesday〉 Season 2 main cast shared their impressions of visiting Korea. At the press conference held in Seoul on August 11 (Monday), Tim Burton, Jenna Ortega, and Emma Myers attended and shared various stories about the work.

Tim Burton's Love for Korea

〈Wednesday〉 Season 2 tells the story of Wednesday Addams returning to Nevermore Academy for a new semester, facing a more chilling and bizarre mystery surrounding her, and seeking the hidden truth behind it. On this day, director Tim Burton said, “Korea is a creative, beautiful, and great source of inspiration every time I come. I am very happy to be back with 〈Wednesday〉 Season 2, a work I poured my passion into and take pride in.” Jenna Ortega, who visited Korea for the first time through 〈Wednesday〉 Season 2, expressed, “This is my first visit to Korea, and I am so happy to experience Korean culture firsthand and see it with my own eyes. I worked really hard on this project, and I was worried if people would like it, but I am so glad to meet the Korean fans who love it. I want to thank everyone who watches and hug them all, and I want to give autographs.” Emma Myers shared, “I am happy to be back in Korea after two years. It’s great to share good moments with passionate Korean fans.”

Jenna Ortega Participates as a Producer

Director Tim Burton further introduced 〈Wednesday〉 Season 2 by saying, “It is a very 〈Wednesday〉 work. The narrative about family is deeply explored, especially the mother-daughter relationship spanning three generations involving ‘Wednesday’, ‘Morticia’, and ‘Morticia’s’ mother.” Jenna Ortega, who also participated as a producer in Season 2, said, “We had many discussions during Season 1, and I was able to engage in discussions about the storyline on a higher level, which allowed me to be more involved than just as an actress. Knowing about the work before we started filming helped with my acting, and as someone with a lot of passion as an actor, it felt like a new world was unfolding before my eyes, making it a very unique experience.”

Unique Characters in Season 2

There were also various discussions about the unique characters in 〈Wednesday〉 Season 2. Jenna Ortega, returning once again as ‘Wednesday’, shared, “Originally, ‘Wednesday’ was very afraid of being hugged or touched by anyone, but in Season 2, that has improved, and she has become able to lean on those around her. She was originally independent, but a noticeable change is that she starts to rely on others after losing her spiritual abilities.” Emma Myers, who plays ‘Enid’, shared insights about ‘Enid’ experiencing more complex emotions in Season 2, stating, “‘Enid’ is a bit confused in Season 2. ‘Wednesday’ has her own walls, so there are misunderstandings that build up when she sees ‘Wednesday’ pushing her away. But I think that’s natural in all relationships.”
