The animated film based on K-Pop, 〈K-Pop Demon Hunters〉 (hereafter 〈K-DH〉), is achieving unprecedented success on the Netflix platform.

According to data released by Netflix's official site 'Tudum' on the 13th, 〈K-DH〉 has recorded a cumulative view count of 184.6 million, ranking it second in Netflix movie history. This is a significant gap of 46.3 million views behind the first place 〈Red Notice〉, which has 230.9 million views.

The view count is calculated by dividing the cumulative viewing time by the movie's runtime. In the case of 〈K-DH〉, the cumulative viewing time reached 307.6 million hours, while the movie's running time is 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Co-directed by Canadian of Korean descent Maggie Kang and American Chris Appelhans, this work depicts the battles of a girl group called HuntRix, who are K-Pop singers and demon hunters, against evil spirits. It achieved this record about 7 weeks after its release on June 20.

Industry experts predict that 〈K-DH〉 will soon surpass 〈Red Notice〉 to become the number one Netflix movie of all time. The average weekly view count for K-DH has exceeded 26 million over the past four weeks, lending credence to this prediction.

The success of 〈K-DH〉 is spreading beyond video content into the music field as well. The original soundtrack (OST) of the work, 'Golden', topped the UK Official Singles Chart 'Top 100' on the 1st, and on the 11th, it reached the top of the US Billboard Main Singles Chart 'Hot 100', achieving the remarkable feat of dominating the two major music charts worldwide.
