The Amazon Prime Video series 〈Butterfly〉, produced by a Korean-American and featuring a large cast of Korean actors, is set to meet domestic viewers.

CJ ENM announced on the 14th that 〈Butterfly〉 will premiere on tvN on the 22nd. This work was previously released in the U.S. on Amazon Prime Video on the 13th.

〈Butterfly〉 is a spy thriller drama depicting the fierce confrontation between David Jung, a former American spy living in Korea and cut off from the world, and Rebecca, an agent dispatched to eliminate him. Korean-American actor Daniel Dae Kim plays the role of David Jung while also serving as the executive producer, and Reina Hardisty plays the role of Rebecca.

The production team is also noteworthy. Ken Woodruff, known for 'The Mentalist', and Korean-American writer Steph Cha are credited as co-producers. Notably, the significant participation of Korean actors is drawing attention. Kim Tae-hee, Kim Ji-hoon, Park Hae-soo, Sung Dong-il, and Lee Il-hwa are among the cast.

Filming also took place across Korea, including Seoul and Busan, capturing the local sentiment and scenery. Through this production process, despite being an American drama produced by Amazon MGM Studios, it is evaluated as a unique work that strongly reflects Korean characteristics.
