The short film 〈Incoherence〉, directed by Bong Joon-ho and a graduation work from the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA), will be released exclusively in Megabox.
Megabox officially announced on the 18th that it will launch its new short film brand 'Short Film' and has selected Bong Joon-ho's 1994 work 〈Incoherence〉 as its first screening, which will be shown exclusively in over 50 theaters nationwide starting August 27. 'Short Film' is a curated brand for short films that can only be found in Megabox, and it plans to showcase one film each month, including early works by master directors, award-winning films from festivals, and works by new directors.
〈Incoherence〉 is a 30-minute omnibus short film directed by Bong during his 11th year at KAFA. 〈Incoherence〉 consists of four episodes: 'Cockroach', 'Out of the Alley', 'Night of Pain', and 'Epilogue'. The three characters—a newspaper editorialist who habitually steals milk left at others' doors while exercising in the morning, an elite prosecutor who gets caught by a security guard while urinating on the street after getting drunk, and a professor who almost gets caught by a female student while enjoying a coloring magazine—appear on a TV program to discuss social issues.
A representative from Megabox stated, "We are preparing a diverse lineup of short films, from masterpieces that have only been heard of through rumors to works by new directors that will bring a fresh breeze to the film industry. We hope 'Short Film' will serve as an opportunity to highlight emerging creators and contribute to the diversity of theater content."
