Netflix will exclusively release the romantic comedy series 〈Romantic Anonymous〉 depicting the pure love of adults in their 30s and 40s worldwide on October 16. 〈Romantic Anonymous〉 portrays the process of two men and women, who are distant from love, as they awkwardly open their hearts to love, struggling with 'difficulty in making contact with people' and 'even making eye contact'. With a glamorous cast recognized for their acting skills and a production team from Japan and Korea working together, it humorously captures the charming yet imperfect romance of adults.
The lead role is played by Shun Oguri, who currently represents the Japanese entertainment industry. He takes on the role of 'Sousuke', a wealthy heir with obsessive-compulsive disorder that prevents him from even shaking hands with others due to certain reasons, making a return to a traditional romantic comedy after a long time. The female lead 'Hana', who has 'fear of eye contact', is played by top Korean actress Han Hyo-joo. She portrays the pure character Hana, who maintains her peace of mind by making her favorite chocolates, with a girl-like smile. Additionally, Akaniishi Jin joins as 'Hiro', a rare friend with whom Sousuke opens up, and Yurika Nakamura plays 'Aileen', a friend and psychiatrist, creating a dazzling combination of four actors from the same generation.
Leading this perfect casting is director Shokichi Tsukikawa, renowned as a master of the romance genre. His directing skills, which led the Netflix series 〈Y☆Y☆White Paper〉 to mega-hit status, are once again highly anticipated. The production designer is Lee Ha-jun, who worked on the Academy Award-winning film 〈Parasite〉, with editing by Yang Jin-mo from the same film, cinematography by Kosuke Yamada, who handled the Netflix series 〈Goodbye Beyond〉, and music by Dalparan, a music director who has won numerous awards in Korea. The best creators in Asia robustly support the pure love story of clumsy adults today.
